Feminist and Activist Poetry Through the Ages

A Staged Reading by the Munich Feminist Project

Saturday, 21 September
Men tell her that she is a muse. Yet she knows that she is not a muse, she has a muse.” -- Sarah Gilbert

The female muse is a widely known concept that often fetishizes women in order for male writers to appropriate women’s bodies and use them for their own expression. Poetry has been – and still somewhat is – dominated by male voices and experiences.

What we want to show with this staged reading is how writing – especially the writing of poetry – has been and is being employed as a form of self-determination and rebellion.

This event is free. No registration necessary.
