If you buy English language books,
we’d be grateful if you’d buy them from us.
When you do so, you support a local, family-run business. Remember, online vendors can’t host author readings,
kids’ storytimes, or writing workshops!

A Letter From The Readery

Since closing the Munich Readery on 18 March, we have received many messages of support from you, our customers. We are touched and deeply appreciate your good wishes. It’s really gratifying to hear how much people like and miss our shop.

We thank you wholeheartedly.

We have received daily requests for books and gift certificates.
After some thought, we think the following options
are practical for us to offer:

Send us a list of books you would like to purchase,
providing titles and authors.
If we currently have any in stock, we’ll let you know the prices.
If they are not in stock, we can suggest alternate titles,
if you indicate that in your message.

Because we are avoiding trips to the post office,
we are limited by the width of the Deutsche Post mailbox slots,
so we can send only 1 or 2 books at a time, or multiple packages.

Deutsche Post Büchersendung rates are:
€1,90 for up to 500g.
€2,20 for up to 1000g.

If we have the books you want,
we will email an invoice to you with our bank info;
payment by bank transfer.

If you wish to purchase a gift certificate,
just let us know for how much and we will send an invoice,
and mail the gift certificate upon receipt of payment.
(€20,– minimum.)
Payment by bank transfer.

•We only go to the shop once or twice a week so our responses to emails,
and the shipments of books might take a few days to do.

Please be smart, stay safe, and bleib Gesund.

With warmth,
John & Lisa
